CELSO NETO

Welcome!

I am a philosopher of science and race, based at the Centre for the Study of the Life Sciences (Egenis), University of Exeter, UK.

Currently, I lead HUGERA: an ERC-funded project that develops a framework for ethically responsible research in human genomics.

My work examines the uses and abuses of scientific classifications, with a current focus on genetic classifications of human populations.

More broadly, I also work on issues concerning evolutionary explanation, the scope of natural selection, ambiguous concepts in science, and the concept of lineage.

You can reach me at C.Alves-Neto at exeter.ac.uk
